Courageous Coronavirus Conversations: The COVID-19 pandemic has created great uncertainty, stress, and changes in our daily lives. Everyone’s response may be unique due to their individual status regarding health risks, job situation, social contacts, living situation, and more. These factors can create opportunities for miscommunications, hurt feelings, and inaccurate assumptions if we fail to communicate clearly and with positive intent.
Your Courageous Conversations Ministry Team is creating a series of short videos which illustrate some common situations in the era of self-quarantine, social distancing, facemask protocols and other pandemic-related topics. These videos are designed to illustrate shared experiences and provide some tools which may be helpful in respectfully addressing conflicts that may arise.
Today we are including links to our first two videos:
*Video #1 is a Preamble—a brief explanation of why we have undertaken this task. https://youtu.be/FGNvaYZ0lB4
*Video #2 presents a brief scenario about encountering people who are not following the recommended guidelines. How might we address this? https://youtu.be/NO4f6aOPpxI
*Video #3 is about understanding anger. How do we deal with anger in ourselves, and in others? Why might it arise now? https://youtu.be/jxtAzml4inc
We encourage you to take a few minutes to view them and see if they might help foster positive connections between yourself and others who may have a different opinion on the topic(s) illustrated. If you have any questions or suggestions in this area, please feel free to contact any member of the Courageous Conversations Ministry Team: Jan Ydstie-Roy, Andre Dion, Jackie Glover or Branko Kosovic.
