Atonement Lutheran Church (ELCA) is a warm, welcoming, and inclusive church located in Boulder, Colorado. The office administrator’s primary role is to handle church office administration: the day-to-day clerical and administrative needs of the Pastors, in addition to administrative support for the staff and congregation. The position is designed as a 32-hours-per-week job. Typically, it requires being on-site Tuesday-Friday and preferably Sunday, but there is flexibility regarding the days of the office hours. This position reports to the Lead Pastor, and works with the Pastors, church staff and members of Atonement Lutheran Church to support the congregation’s ministry.
Preference will be given to applicants who have experience or skills in an office-related environment. Salary is commensurate with skills and experience, in the range of $18-22/hr. Individual benefits are included for this position.
Faith Formation Coordinator
The purpose of this ministry position is to nurture the formation of faith of children and families through Wednesday evening and Sunday morning programming. Atonement also recognizes the overwhelming data indicating the importance of the home and family in the development of faith.
This staff member reports to the Associate Pastor for Children, Youth, and Household Ministry. The position is part-time (20 hours/week) and includes pro-rated health benefits (50%), or an equivalent reimbursable health savings account. Responsibilities involve working primarily with children (birth-5th grade) and the implementation of cross-generational activities.
Additional hours may be available temporarily for this role while we are in the Associate Pastor search process.
As we emerge from the Covid-19 Pandemic, certain responsibilities below will need to be adapted or re-implemented as safety precautions allow.
Atonement Lutheran Church is looking for an Audio Visual Technician to operate its audio and video live-streaming worship services and events. The AV technician will take primary responsibility for learning the technology, and be responsible for the streaming of Sunday morning worship from the Atonement Sanctuary at 9:30 am.
During the summer of 2021, worship will be in-person and live-streamed from outdoors. There is also a trained team of volunteers, who can assume part of the Sunday, or other events, and act as a “back-up”. In addition to being present on Sunday mornings, responsibilities include several hours of preparation for the upcoming week.
Associate Music Director
The Associate Music Director supports the faith of the congregation through the ministry of music. The position has three main components: accompanying the Sanctuary Choir and congregation in their singing, directing Spirit Song, a small vocal ensemble, and playing preludes and postludes as needed in worship. Applicants who play the organ are invited to identify this to the search committee. Atonement also has a K-5th ensemble and a middle/high school ensemble. Applicants are encouraged to identify interest in these ensembles as well.
